Washington Wizards edge Utah Jazz 92-88 in Summer League opener

The Washington Wizards defeated the Utah Jazz 92-88 in a Summer League game in Las Vegas on July 9 or 10. AJ Dybantsa, the first overall pick, scored a game-high 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds and recorded two assists in 26 minutes. Darryn Peterson, selected second overall, finished with 21 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Jazz.

Dybantsa attempted 18 field goals and made seven while drawing eight free throw attempts. He performed a dunk over four Jazz defenders late in the first quarter. He sat out the final moments of the game due to apparent leg cramps.

"Every time I play against him, it's a battle," Dybantsa said after the game. "He always comes out to compete. He beat me three times previous, so this was my first win. " The NBA Summer League began in July 2026 with all 30 teams participating in Las Vegas.
