82 ERA in eight career starts for Chicago after making his major league debut earlier this season. The injury is one he has dealt with and pitched through previously.
"Something we wanted to catch before it got worse," Schultz said. Manager Will Venable said the ailment will not require an MRI and should not keep Schultz off the active roster for long. Venable added that the issue is not causing a high level of concern.
Sandlin, 25, is scheduled to make his major league debut Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. 75 ERA over four starts with Charlotte before the call-up. He was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox during the previous off-season.
