White Sox Rookie Tristan Peters Hits for the Cycle Against Athletics

Chicago White Sox rookie center fielder Tristan Peters hit for the cycle on July 10, 2026, going 4-for-4 with a double, single, home run and triple in a 14-1 win over the Athletics, ESPN reported. Peters drove in four runs and scored two. 303.

The 26-year-old Canadian, who made his MLB debut in August 2025, became the first White Sox player to hit for the cycle since Jose Abreu on September 9, 2017. Peters completed the cycle with a triple in the seventh inning after homering earlier in the same inning. He hit a hard grounder past Athletics first baseman Joey Meneses and beat the relay throw with a headfirst slide into third.

"When I hit the ball, I was thinking three," Peters said. Peters became the fifth player in major league history to hit for the cycle from the No. 1 spot in the batting order. He was also the third player since 1961 to get two hits in the same inning to complete the cycle, joining Felix Pie in 2009 and Jim Ray Hart in 1950.

Chicago manager Will Venable said, "It's impressive, there haven't been too many of those. " Peters said hitting for the cycle ranks first among his career achievements. He is the third major leaguer to hit for the cycle in the 2026 season, joining Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Cubs and Bryce Harper of the Phillies.
