Wimbledon quarter-finals begin with Sinner, Osaka, Gauff and Djokovic on court

Quarter-final matches began at 1pm BST on day nine of Wimbledon 2026. Two show courts are in use with ten players scheduled. Jannik Sinner opened play on No 1 Court. The defending champion has not appeared at full strength since an injury at Roland Garros earlier this year.

His opponent, Jan-Leonard Struff, reached the quarter-finals after defeating Sebastián Báez, Brandon Nakashima, Daniil Medvedev and Hubert Hurkacz.

Pegula is seeking a first major title. Gauff has reached a deciding set in three of her four matches so far. Naomi Osaka played Karolina Muchova later on No 1 Court. Osaka defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the previous round. Muchova reached the quarter-finals for the first time at Wimbledon.

Remaining matches Alexander Zverev led Jiri Lehecka by two sets to love when their match was suspended last night. The pair will resume at 3-3 in the third set. Novak Djokovic played Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final match of the day. Djokovic is seeking a 25th major title. Auger-Aliassime reached the quarter-finals after strong performances earlier in the tournament.
