Wired Reports Cruz and Himes Named in Leaked Dialog Group Records

Wired reported on June 17, 2026, that leaked internal records from the Dialog group list Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic Connecticut Rep. Jim Himes among participants in the secretive, invitation-only retreat co-founded by Peter Thiel in 2006.

Cruz chairs the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, which oversees the Federal Trade Commission.

It is not known whether Cruz and Himes are longtime participants, one-time guests, or have only received invitations.

Their offices did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The 2026 Dialog retreat is scheduled for August 12-16 near Dublin, Ireland.
