Woman, 59, sexually assaulted in Brooklyn park Tuesday morning

Police say an unidentified man attacked a 59-year-old woman inside Kaiser Park in Coney Island around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday. The NYPD released a sketch and asked for public assistance.

M. Tuesday, police said. The attacker approached the woman as she walked near the corner of Bayview and Neptune Avenues and assaulted her, authorities said. The suspect did not know the victim.

Investigation details The woman declined medical attention at the scene.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing all black with a hood and carrying a backpack walking on the sidewalk near the park. The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect, who remains at large. Police have asked anyone with information to call the Sex Crimes Hotline at 1-212-267-7273 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Reported rapes in the 60th Precinct, which covers the area, total 10 so far this year, down from 17 during the same period last year.
