Woman charged with parents' 2022 murder in Pennsylvania home

Michelle Zajko, 32, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the December 31, 2022, shooting deaths of her parents in their Delaware County, Pennsylvania, home. Prosecutors said Zajko worked with others to carry out the killings.
Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse told reporters that investigators have not yet identified any co-conspirators.
Background on the case Rouse said Zajko fell in with a group founded by Jack “Ziz” LaSota, a 34-year-old blogger and computer engineer from Berkeley. The group, described by authorities as a vegan, transgender-linked anti-AI movement, has been connected to multiple deaths across three states.
Federal agents had previously arrested Zajko on charges that she supplied guns used in the January 2025 killing of Border Patrol Agent David Maland in Vermont. LaSota is currently jailed in Maryland on trespassing, gun, and drug charges.
Additional details Richard Zajko, 71, and Rita Zajko, 68, were killed on their daughter’s birthday. Prosecutors said the parents had attempted to reconcile with their daughter before the shooting. Five members of the group, including Zajko, now face murder charges.
Three of those cases involve the death of a California man killed during an eviction dispute with group members living on his property.
