Wyndham Clark Wears USA Hockey Jersey at RBC Canadian Open, Draws Boos, Birdies 14th Hole

The 32-year-old golfer from Denver removed the jersey for his tee shot on the 134-yard par-3 14th hole, hit the ball to four feet, replaced the jersey, and made the birdie putt. Spectators booed Clark while he walked to and stood over his putt.
Clark birdied holes 14, 15, and 18 to reach 11-under par and second place after the round. The 14th hole, nicknamed "The Rink," features real hockey boards from tee to green. Team USA defeated Canada in overtime to win the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, with Hughes playing for the American team.
"I was doing it to more celebrate USA's win, it had nothing against Canada, but I just thought in hockey country it would be kind of fun," Clark said. "They were booing me all the way up even right before I putted," Clark said. "If I miss that then it looks really bad.
So, I'm glad I birdied it. S. Open and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in May 2026 before competing in Toronto.
