Yamaha Releases RX300A and RX500A AV Receivers as Successors to RX-V385 and YHT-4950U
Yamaha on May 12, 2026 introduced the RX300A and RX500A AV receivers along with the YHT-4970U home theater package. The new models feature modernized front panels, advanced audio processing and full support for 4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz video signals. They will launch between June and September 2026 at prices ranging from $399.95 to $699.95.

It includes built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for music streaming via Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, and net radio. Both the RX300A and RX500A support HDMI loop through of 4K/120Hz signals and 8K/60Hz signals. Both models also support Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR formats, variable refresh rates, and Auto Low Latency Mode.
Both receivers include a setup mic for automatic room correction and programmable Scene buttons that allow users to recall complete system settings with a single button press. The new units adopt an all-new minimalist design with cleaner front panels, fewer buttons and simpler labeling. 1-channel speaker system along with speaker wire and a subwoofer cable.
It is the successor to the YHT-4950U. The new receivers use Yamaha's True Sound design philosophy including the Anti-Resonance Technology Wedge adopted from AVENTAGE models. Yamaha has a 40-year history of AV receiver production.
