Boone said Schlittler has no physical issues. The pitcher instead expressed concern about overthrowing on what would normally be his recovery day. "Just feels like, on his recovery day, to go back out there throwing 100 miles an hour is something that he felt a little apprehensive about," Boone said.
Boone said he supports the decision. He added that Schlittler understands what is at stake in the second half. Schlittler's next start is likely to come next week against the Los Angeles Dodgers, ESPN reported.
