Yonhap Publishes 2026 English Almanac on South Korea's 2025 Events

Yonhap News Agency published its annual English-language almanac on Monday. The Korean Annual 2026 summarizes major events, developments and issues that occurred in South Korea in 2025 across politics, the economy, society, culture and sports. The almanac is the only English-language yearbook published in South Korea.

Yonhap produces it each year to supply accurate information to foreign government organs, international organizations, diplomatic missions and people interested in the country. This edition includes a section on the 2025 presidential election, South Korea's second early presidential vote since the Constitution's establishment.

It details how President Lee Jae Myung was elected and presents the new administration's key policies and accomplishments during its first six months.

The highlights section covers the impeachment and removal of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, Korea-U.S. tariff negotiations, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index rising above the 4,000 mark and the continued global expansion of K-culture. The almanac also addresses key developments in North Korea in politics, the economy and society, along with inter-Korean ties.

The 480-page volume appears in handbook form and contains photos, graphics and statistics.
