YouTube Adds AI-Powered Video Search Feature for Premium Users
YouTube introduced Ask YouTube, a new feature that compiles short- and long-form videos to answer user questions. The tool is currently available to Premium members in the U.S. through the YouTube Labs page.
EngadgetYouTube unveiled Ask YouTube, a feature that assembles relevant short- and long-form videos to respond to conversational questions. The tool operates similarly to Google Search's AI Mode but remains within the YouTube platform. Users can submit follow-up questions to refine results and view small text summaries that indicate whether a video addresses their query.
Ask YouTube draws from both regular videos and Shorts.
YouTube is also integrating Gemini Omni into its Create app and Shorts Remix. The system accepts images, audio, video, and text to generate new video content. Creators can remix Shorts by adding prompts or images while preserving the original context.
Original Shorts creators may opt out of visual remixes. U.S. through the YouTube Labs page. Gemini Omni integration began rolling out on the same day.
