benzinga.comYouTuber Jon Prosser filed a formal response to Apple’s lawsuit accusing him and Michael Ramacciotti of stealing iOS trade secrets. The Verge reported the filing on July 3, 2026. In the response, Prosser denied that he planned or participated in any conspiracy or coordinated scheme for the purpose of injuring Apple.
He admitted to recording a FaceTime call showing unreleased iOS software and to sharing revenue from his YouTube videos with Ramacciotti. Prosser argued that Ramacciotti is completely responsible for the alleged disclosure of trade secrets. Prosser denied jointly planning to access the information or knowing Ramacciotti’s financial situation.
He stated he was unaware of who Ethan Lipnik was and how Ramacciotti gathered the information from Lipnik’s development iPhone. Prosser admitted participating in the FaceTime call where Ramacciotti demonstrated features of the unreleased iOS 19 operating system.
Apple alleged last July that Prosser and Ramacciotti had a coordinated scheme to break into an Apple development iPhone, steal trade secrets, and profit from the theft.
Over several months in 2025, Prosser hosted three videos on his Front Page Tech channel detailing unannounced iOS 19 elements that later appeared in the renamed iOS 26 system demonstrated at WWDC. Prosser admitted recording the call, taking screen captures, and sharing recordings afterward.
He denied enlisting or bribing Ramacciotti in advance but admitted sharing a portion of YouTube advertising revenue to retain exclusive communication.
Prosser said he disconnected communication once he learned how Ramacciotti acquired the information. Prosser requested a jury trial on all issues. Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
A clerk had entered a default against Prosser months earlier after he failed to respond formally, but the judge set aside the default in June after Prosser agreed to a deposition and retained counsel.
