New Zealand Lead England by 352 Runs After Third Day at The Oval

New Zealand moved to 252 for three in their second innings on the third day of the second Test at The Oval, taking a 352-run lead. England had been bowled out for 291 earlier in the day after beginning 169 runs behind.

England lost their last four wickets for 69 runs to finish on 291. A 53-run partnership for the tenth wicket between number nine and the last man delayed the end of the innings. Matt Henry took five wickets for 80 runs. The total left England 100 runs behind on first innings.

Zealand lost two early wickets before adding 161 for the third wicket. The third-wicket pair were separated when one batter was given out leg-before-wicket for 76. The remaining batter reached 119 not out by the close. A partnership of 63 runs remained unbroken at stumps.

England's debutant wicketkeeper dropped two catches that proved costly. Both opportunities came when the batters had fewer than 50 runs. England made five changes from the side that won the first Test, including three new caps. The team is without its captain for this match.
