Large Hadron Collider Shuts Down for High-Luminosity Upgrade
The particle collider at CERN near Geneva closed June 29 to begin work on its successor. The High-Luminosity LHC is scheduled to start operations in 2030 with up to ten times the collision rate of the current machine.
