Wildfire Burns Nearly One-Third of Santa Rosa Island in Channel Islands National Park
A human-caused wildfire that began last Friday has burned more than 16,000 acres on Santa Rosa Island. The fire remains uncontained and has moved through stands of Torrey pine trees that grow naturally only on the island and in northern San Diego.
