Lost 1897 Film Reel Discovered in US Attic After Century in Family Chest
A wooden chest sealed for over a century was opened in rural Pennsylvania, revealing ten reels of old film. One reel contains a 45-second film from 1897 titled Gugusse et l'automate. Archivists at the Library of Congress restored and identified the damaged films.
