Japan Defense Minister Says Nuclear Weapons Must Be Discussed as Security Policy Is Reviewed

Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said on a recorded program Friday that nuclear weapons form a topic Japan cannot avoid. The remarks precede a Europe trip and coincide with government review of security documents that may alter the decades-old non-nuclear pledge.
