UK Tobacco and Vapes Bill Receives Royal Assent, Implementing Generational Ban on Sales to Post-2009 Births
The Tobacco and Vapes Bill received Royal Assent on 2026-04-29. It prohibits selling tobacco to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009. Children born on 2026-04-29 will never legally be sold cigarettes under the new law.
