The GuardianOllie Robinson took four wickets, including three in his opening over, as England were bowled out for 140 on the first day of the Test against New Zealand at Lord's. Sixteen wickets fell in 60 overs of rain-affected play, leaving New Zealand at 61 for six at stumps.
Robinson, returning after two years out of the side, dismissed Devon Conway lbw with his third ball, had Kane Williamson caught at short leg with his fifth, and trapped Rachin Ravindra lbw with the final delivery of the over.
He later bowled Daryl Mitchell shouldering arms during a six-over spell. Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue took wickets either side of Robinson's burst. England reached 55 for five after losing Ben Duckett lbw for 19 to Nathan Smith, Jacob Bethell lbw to Will O'Rourke, and Joe Root caught behind for one off O'Rourke.
Jamie Smith was bowled for one shouldering arms to Kyle Jamieson. Harry Brook top-scored with 56 before holing out. Ben Stokes made 12 before being caught at slip by Kane Williamson's one-handed catch.
Josh Tongue scored 10 and Shoaib Bashir 14 in the lower order. Kyle Jamieson dismissed Gus Atkinson lbw and Ollie Robinson caught off a light under-edge to finish with five for 62. Jamieson, playing his first Test in more than two years after recovering from lower back stress fractures, had his name placed on the Lord's honours board.
Matt Henry left the field with back spasms after his opening spell. Emilio Gay, on debut, struck his first boundary with a four off a full toss from Jamieson and was later caught at first slip by Jamieson for nine. The left-hander faced the first two-hour rain stoppage after adding one more boundary.
New Zealand lost their first wicket at 31 for one before Robinson's spell reduced them to 61 for six. The Dukes ball moved throughout the day under cloudy skies.
