GoPro Announces Mission 1 Action Camera Line with Larger Sensors and Lens Support

GoPro announced the Mission 1 cameras on April 14, 2026. This new line focuses on video recording and includes 50-megapixel, 1-inch-type sensors along with the company's GP3 in-house processor. Pricing details remain undisclosed.

The series comprises three models released in two waves. The base Mission 1 and the Mission 1 Pro will launch on May 28, 2026. The higher-end Mission 1 Pro ILS is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

The base Mission 1 records video at up to 8K resolution and 30 frames per second in 16:9 aspect ratio. It also supports open gate recording using the full 4:3 sensor at up to 4K and 120 frames per second. For slow-motion, it achieves up to 240 frames per second at 1080p resolution.

Enhanced Video Capabilities in Pro Models The Mission 1 Pro improves on these specifications with 8K at 60 frames per second in 16:9 and 8K at 30 frames per second in open gate.

Its slow-motion feature reaches up to 960 frames per second at 1080p. 8 lens. The Mission 1 Pro ILS introduces an interchangeable lens mount compatible with Micro Four Thirds lenses.
