Aaron Rodgers Does Not Visit Steelers Facility Amid Weekend Reports

A planned visit by Aaron Rodgers to the team facility on Friday did not take place, according to reporting on Monday. Ian Rapoport had reported that the 42-year-old quarterback was expected to visit to begin the process of returning to the team in 2026. However, that meeting never happened.

Adam Schefter said on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” that neither the team nor the passer’s agent were aware of the supposed meeting. Varying reports emerged over the weekend about the quarterback’s location. One local outlet reported that he was in the city but not meeting with the team, while another described a rumor that he was playing golf in the area.

Schefter added that he still expects the quarterback to return for his 22nd season. The quarterback received an unrestricted free agent tender from the team in April. The team has the right to match any offer he might sign with another organization.

The team’s organized team activities begin next Monday. Schefter said he saw no reason for the quarterback and the team to wait past that point to reach an agreement if both sides plan to move forward. The quarterback had an effective season in which the team finished 10-7.

In 16 games, he threw for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions, posting a 94.8 passer rating. The team lost 30-6 to the Texans in the wild-card round. That playoff loss could mark the end of the quarterback’s career.
