Adam Scott to Play in 100th Straight Major at U.S. Open
The Australian golfer will tee off Thursday at Shinnecock Hills, becoming only the second player to reach the mark after Jack Nicklaus.

Scott, 45, said he has no plans to chase that record. "It's been fun," Scott said Tuesday. "I had a photograph with Jack Nicklaus a couple of weeks ago at his Memorial Tournament, and he's the other guy who made it to a hundred in a row.
Scott's streak began at the 2001 British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England. He tied for 47th place six days after his 21st birthday. In his previous 99 majors, Scott made 74 cuts, recorded 45 top-25 finishes, 20 top-10 finishes and nine top-five finishes.
His only major victory came at the 2013 Masters, where he defeated Ángel Cabrera on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. Jordan Spieth holds the second-longest active streak at 52 consecutive majors. Scott said the milestone was not something he set out to achieve.
"Yeah, it's an interesting one, as I've thought about it over the last couple of weeks, obviously this week getting closer," he said. "I found it difficult at first reflecting on something while I'm still playing. I think I've never really been one to dwell on milestones.
