Agility Robotics Opens Silicon Valley Hub to Recruit Engineers

Agility Robotics opened a new facility in Fremont, California, about 15 miles east of Palo Alto. The location places the company near Meta's hardware campus and Tesla's Fremont operations. The company said it seeks to hire additional technical staff amid competition for specialized talent.

The Fremont site gives Agility closer access to a large pool of engineers. The company stated that bidding wars for rare talent have occurred in recent hiring efforts. Agility first deployed its bipedal Digit robot in commercial operations in 2024.

Agility said it is building the business through a deliberate, long-term approach. The company plans to go public via a SPAC later this year. Officials described the expansion as part of a strategy to scale operations steadily. "One of the things that's been weird recently has been kind of the bidding wars for some of this really rare talent," a company executive said.

The firm also stated it is pursuing growth without relying on short-term incentives.
