AI Tools Flag Audio Clip Claiming Marcos Ordered Cases Against Senators as Fake
Rappler reported that an audio clip circulating on Facebook, claiming President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed delays and fabrications in cases against senators, was rated over 95% likely AI-generated by three detection tools. The clip had no corroboration from credible outlets.

An audio clip circulating on Facebook that purported to capture President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. instructing an unidentified person to delay cases against two unnamed individuals, prioritize a case against Senator Rodante Marcoleta, and fabricate a reason for a case against former House Speaker Martin Romualdez has been assessed as AI-generated.
Rappler reported that one Facebook video of a vlogger reacting to the clip received 1.2 million views, 20,600 reactions, and 12,000 shares.
A second post with a video version depicting Marcos speaking to Ombudsman Boying Remulla gained about 40,000 views. Hive Moderation assessed the audio as having a 98.8% probability of containing AI-generated speech. TruthScan rated the probability at 96%, while Undetectable AI found the clip 4% real and the remainder likely AI-generated.
A reverse image search of the supposed video and a search for the quoted statement yielded no reliable results. No credible media outlets or official government sources reported the statement attributed to Marcos. The clip spread amid the prior arrests of Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Rodante Marcoleta and an outstanding International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Senator Bato dela Rosa.
These events have prevented the senators from attending Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial. National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag announced a possible probe into alleged procurement irregularities in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, when Senator Alan Peter Cayetano headed the organizing committee as House Speaker.
