Airlines Add Grab-and-Go Lounge Options at Major Airports
United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines have introduced quick-service lounge areas that let travelers collect food and drinks without seating. The changes follow reports of overcrowding in traditional lounges. Access rules remain the same as existing club policies.
nypost.comUnited Airlines opened a grab-and-go location in Houston that offers fresh-squeezed orange juice, warmed pastries, wraps, salads, sandwiches and barista-made coffee. Travelers pick up items at a self-service counter and leave without using seating areas.
American Airlines opened Provisions by Admirals Club at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in 2025. The space provides grab-and-go food and beverage options plus staff assistance in a layout built for quick visits.
Entry follows the same rules as standard Admirals Club locations. Travelers can also buy a one-day pass for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles. Delta Air Lines added quick-serve sections inside existing Sky Clubs in Atlanta and New York. The airline states that current Sky Club access policies apply to these areas.
A travel expert who flies monthly said the grab-and-go option works well for tight connections or when traveling with children. The same expert noted that the format reduces staffing and space needs compared with full lounges. Reddit users who tried the service reported using it successfully during short layovers.
Some said they would welcome the addition if it does not replace traditional lounges.
