AMD Raises Server CPU Market Growth Forecast to 35% Annually Through 2030
Rappler reported that US semiconductor stocks rose on May 6 2026 after Advanced Micro Devices raised its long-term server CPU market outlook and Super Micro Computer issued a strong fourth-quarter forecast. US semiconductor stocks rose on May 6 2026 after Advanced Micro Devices announced that a shift toward inference is opening up fresh opportunities for its server CPUs, Rappler reported. AMD jumped nearly 18 percent in pre-market trading. Intel rose 6 percent.
Arm Holdings soared 11 percent. Qualcomm gained about 4 percent. 7 percent. 4 percent.
The company now expects the server CPU addressable market to grow by more than 35 percent annually through 2030, up from a prior forecast of 18 percent. AMD had its best month in April since the dotcom era. AMD shares have climbed about 66 percent for the year as of May 6 2026, outpacing Nvidia’s gain of 5 percent.
66 times forward earnings while Nvidia trades at roughly 21 times forward earnings. Samsung Electronics reached $1 trillion in market value on May 6 2026, becoming only the second Asian company to reach that level. Super Micro surged nearly 19 percent on May 6 2026 after forecasting fourth-quarter revenue and profit above expectations.
Super Micro has production sites in Taiwan, Malaysia and the Netherlands. Charles Liang, CEO of Super Micro, said demand was strong for Super Micro’s customizable high-performance AI servers. He said demand was also strong for Super Micro’s broader data-center and cloud software offerings.
P. Morgan analysts said the better-than-expected outlook was driven by margin recovery and diversification of customers.
