Angolan President Sends Congratulations to Cabo Verde on Independence Anniversary

Angolan President João Lourenço sent a message to Cabo Verde marking the country's 50th anniversary of independence on July 5. In the message, the Angolan leader praised Cabo Verde's achievements over five decades in the economic, cultural, social, and sports spheres. He also highlighted the representation of Cabo Verdeans at the ongoing World Cup.

The message noted the existing cooperation between Angola and Cabo Verde and expressed interest in expanding ties to support development in both countries. It described the relationship between the two nations as sincere, deep, and solid. Cabo Verde proclaimed independence on July 5, 1975.

Relations between the two countries include cooperation in multilateral forums such as the Community of Portuguese Language Countries and the Organization of African Countries with Portuguese as an Official Language.
