Anthropic restored access to its Mythos 5 model for a set of U.S. organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure on Friday. The company said the U.S. government notified it that the model could be redeployed to those groups after an export-control order earlier this month had barred access by foreign nationals, including foreign national employees inside the firm.
Anthropic, based in San Francisco, disabled access to both Mythos 5 and Fable 5 after the order took effect. The company has worked with the government since June 12 to restore availability. Access to Mythos 5 is being restored quickly for the approved organizations, while the status of Fable 5 remained unchanged as of Friday.
