Antonelli built a lead of more than five seconds within ten laps and was more than 20 seconds ahead when the first safety car appeared with 18 laps remaining.
Race interruptions and penalties Lance Stroll crashed at the final corner, triggering the first safety car. Charles Leclerc then crashed at the same location before the restart, prompting officials to stop the race with a red flag to inspect the track surface.
George Russell received a drive-through penalty that dropped him to 13th place. Pierre Gasly was penalized for speeding in the pit lane and fell from third to seventh, moving Isack Hadjar onto the podium in third.
Championship standings Antonelli's fifth consecutive victory gives him a 66-point lead over Hamilton, with Russell now third, two points further behind. The result leaves 16 races remaining in the season. Sergio Perez finished tenth and may receive the first point for the new Cadillac team, pending an investigation into his restart position after the red flag.
