Gurman had noted the OLED version for months and previously stated last year that it would carry a higher price. Apple raised prices on multiple products last month, including a $100 increase for the existing iPad Mini. Tim Cook attributed the adjustments to an ongoing RAM shortage expected to persist for years.
Gurman also reported that AppleCare Plus prices for Macs and iPads rose earlier this week. The Verge reported that the OLED iPad Mini will almost certainly cost more than its predecessor. Apple plans updates to the iPad Air and the base iPad for early next year.
The base model is expected to receive an updated processor without major design alterations. Gurman added that an eventual OLED upgrade for the iPad Air could arrive next year. iPad Pro and Apple Pencil updates may follow in spring 2027.
