Arizona Woman Describes $945 Truck Payment and Two Prior Bankruptcies on Financial Radio Show

A woman from Arizona told hosts of a personal finance radio program that she is living paycheck to paycheck despite earning around $65,000 before bonuses. She said her monthly costs include a $945 truck payment, $310 for insurance, and roughly $1,500 in fuel expenses.

The caller stated she previously earned more during the COVID period while managing a restaurant and received an inheritance before purchasing the vehicle.

The caller said a dealership combined negative equity from an earlier vehicle into the new loan. She reported owing approximately $51,000 on a truck now valued between $30,000 and $31,000. She added that she and her husband maintain separate finances because he carries debt including back child support and has used payday advance services.

One host suggested she contact local credit unions about refinancing options after selling the vehicle. The same host noted that a third bankruptcy would not resolve the underlying financial issues. The caller acknowledged making past financial choices that contributed to the current situation.
