Matteo Arnaldi defeated Frances Tiafoe, the last American man remaining in the draw, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 at the French Open. m. Tenth-seeded Flavio Cobolli also advanced to the quarterfinals, beating American Zachary Svajda 6-2, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5).

Cobolli said the clay surface gives Italian players their best feeling among the majors.

Berrettini reached the quarterfinals by defeating Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-3, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (6). Berrettini had not played at the tournament since 2021 because of injuries. Arnaldi and Berrettini will face each other in the quarterfinals, guaranteeing at least one Italian man reaches the semifinals.

Felix Auger-Aliassime completed his career set of quarterfinal appearances at all four majors by beating Alejandro Tabilo 6-3, 7-5, 6-1.

A fan took Tiafoe's racket during a post-match celebration; the racket was later returned. Shortly afterward, Cobolli joined Paris Saint-Germain players on court as they displayed the Champions League trophy after the club's victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
