Manchester City won the Women's Super League title on Wednesday night local time when Arsenal drew 1-1 with Brighton & Hove Albion. City players watched the title-deciding match together on television as the result at Broadfield Stadium handed them the crown. The victory ended Chelsea's run of six consecutive Women's Super League championships.

Fuka Tsunoda scored for Brighton & Hove Albion just before half-time. Frida Maanum equalized for Arsenal in the 62nd minute. Arsenal could not find a winner despite a second-half effort from Caitlin Foord that was denied by a fingertip save from Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Dario Vidosic, the Australian manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, orchestrated the result that prevented Arsenal from closing an 11-point gap. Steph Catley did not play for Arsenal because she was injured. Kyra Cooney-Cross's season is over and she returned to Australia to be with her ill mother.

Andree Jeglertz, coach of Manchester City, won the Women's Super League title in his first season in charge. "Helping guide this team to the WSL title is something I will never forget," Andree Jeglertz said. Manchester City last won the Women's Super League title a decade before the current season.

Mary Fowler, 23, has played for Manchester City for four years. She returned to action in February after missing over nine months with an ACL injury. Mary Fowler suffered the ACL injury in the Women's FA Cup semifinal in April 2025.

Abc reported that the 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion gave Manchester City the Women's Super League title. The result prompted huge celebrations among the City squad. Fowler became a Women's Super League champion while several of her Matildas teammates were left frustrated in Arsenal's bid for the title.
