Atlanta Falcons Agree to Three-Year, $54 Million Deal with Tight End Kyle Pitts

The Atlanta Falcons and tight end Kyle Pitts agreed to a three-year, $54 million contract on June 23 that includes $36 million in guaranteed money. The deal gives Pitts an average annual salary that ranks behind only George Kittle at $19.1 million and Trey McBride at $19 million among NFL tight ends. The Falcons had placed the franchise tag on Pitts this offseason.

They held until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement or proceed with the one-year tag. Pitts recorded a career-high 88 receptions in 2025. Pitts said in May during organized team activities that he viewed the tag positively.

"I took the positive in it and taking a chance, and (it's) kind of like my fifth-year option, but it's a sixth-year option," he told reporters. "And it's a blessing to be able to get that year and them not say, 'Well, you can go test the market,' or whatever. " Pitts' agents are David Mulugheta of Athletes First and Andre Odom.

The agreement leaves Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens as the only player entering the 2026 season on the franchise tag. Falcons officials stated they would not negotiate a multiyear pact with Pickens before the end of the 2026 campaign. Wide receiver Drake London signed a four-year, $141 million deal with the Falcons earlier in June.
