Audio Technica Releases £9,999 AT-MCD1 Flagship Moving-Coil Cartridge at High End Vienna 2026

Audio Technica launched its AT-MCD1 flagship iron-core moving-coil stereo cartridge at High End Vienna 2026 in Vienna, Austria. The cartridge is available now and priced at £9,999 or €11,000. The AT-MCD1 builds on more than six decades of Audio Technica engineering and craftsmanship.

It inherits the one-piece diamond cantilever and stylus construction of the earlier AT-MC2022 cartridge while refining the design for greater detail, speed, and smoothness. At the core of the AT-MCD1 is an integrated diamond cantilever and stylus tip engineered to transmit a record groove’s kinetic energy with minimal loss.

22 mm square diamond cantilever uses the material’s high transmission speed to enable fast attack and decay with clarity.
