An Australian man has been charged with murder in Thailand after the naked body of a 17-year-old girl was found inside a suitcase. Simon Peter Carman, 46, was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 26 at a Thai airport as he prepared to board a Jetstar flight to Perth, Thai police said.
Pattaya City police stated that Carman has denied the charges. The case involves a foreign national facing homicide charges in Thailand. In a separate incident, Brooke George, 23, a British woman, was charged with the premeditated murder of a 26-year-old British man in Dubai.
She was arrested at Dubai airport in the early hours of Monday morning and remains held at Bur Dubai Police Station. A British Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the UK government is supporting Brooke George's family and is in contact with local authorities.
