Ayaneo announced the retail price and full specifications for the Pocket Micro 2 handheld gaming device. The unit begins at $269 and serves as the successor to the company's 2024 Pocket Micro, a modern horizontal remake of the Game Boy Micro. Engadget reported that the Pocket Micro 2 carries a 3.5-inch LCD display at 960 by 640 resolution.
It incorporates a new Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm, a 3,950mAh battery, and several control improvements including a larger D-pad, bigger ABXY buttons, enhanced shoulder buttons, and recessed dual TMR joysticks. The device retains USB-C, microSD, WiFi, and Bluetooth while adding a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Early-bird pricing offers the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model for $239 before it reaches the standard $269 price.
The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant launches at $309 and rises to a $339 retail price. Ayaneo first teased the Pocket Micro 2 nearly two weeks before the announcement. The company stated on Discord that it will assess demand to decide whether another production run meets minimum order quantity requirements.
