Barcelona Files Conciliation Request Before Slander Complaint Against Real Madrid President

Barcelona has filed the mandatory conciliation request required before lodging a criminal complaint for slander against the president of Real Madrid. The club stated the request precedes a complaint under article 205 of the Criminal Code. It said the action follows statements made at a press conference on May 12 and in a media interview the following day.

Barcelona said the objective is to obtain a retraction of statements it described as made with knowledge of their falsehood and as slanderous to the club's image and reputation. The club added that if the demand is not properly addressed, it will proceed with the corresponding criminal complaint.
