TechCrunchNewsletter platform Beehiiv introduced a Community feature that lets subscribers of a creator chat with each other inside the platform. The company also launched an AI Copilot that analyzes newsletter and podcast performance to suggest growth and monetization steps.
The Community tool allows creators to build discussion forums and offer paid membership tiers that grant access to specific chatrooms. Creators can moderate conversations within those rooms. The platform previously required users to maintain separate chats on Discord, Slack, or Facebook groups.
Beehiiv added programmatic ads that let publishers select ad slots based on audience and performance data. Publishers on the platform already earn more than $1 million per month through the company's ad network. The company also offers metered paywalls, paid trials, and a sponsorship storefront.
The new AI Copilot can draft outreach campaigns and identify revenue opportunities using context from content, subscribers, and performance metrics. Earlier this year the company released a model context protocol server that connects Beehiiv data to external assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude.
A redesigned editor now displays editing and preview modes side by side. The company plans to focus on user education about these tools in the coming quarter. Rivals have also expanded offerings. Riverside added a newsletter publishing feature last month, and Substack introduced a built-in recording studio in March.
