Belgium and Egypt Draw 1-1 in World Cup Opener

Egypt created several first-half chances. Mostafa Zico and Omar Marmoush forced saves from Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Lukaku entered the match 23 seconds before halftime of the second half.
His movement between two defenders prompted Mohamed Hany to score an own goal that tied the score. Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia had described Lukaku as out of shape before the tournament. Lukaku had played only 69 minutes for Napoli during the club season because of injury.
With the draw, seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions Egypt's wait for a first victory at a World Cup goes on. Both players were substituted while the score remained tied.
