Billionaire businessman Rick Jackson won the Republican primary runoff Tuesday for Georgia governor, defeating Lt. Gov. Burt Jones. m. ET with 85 percent of ballots counted. 3 percent.
Jackson spent over $100 million of his personal wealth during the primary campaign, including approximately $30 million in personal loans. He skipped a scheduled June 2 debate. Lt. Gov. Jones raised questions during the campaign about Jackson's past political donations and the citizenship status of domestic workers at Jackson's residence in Cumming, Georgia.
