Passengers departing Boston Logan International Airport will be able to complete TSA screening at a remote terminal in Framingham beginning June 1. The Massachusetts Port Authority is launching the first remote airport terminal for the facility. Travelers can check in, drop bags, and pass through security at the Logan Airport Remote Terminal before boarding a shuttle to their gate.
M. m. and costs $9. It arrives at Logan at least 45 minutes before departure, where airline staff transfer checked luggage. Parking at the Framingham site costs $7 per day. m. m. are eligible.
The project draws from similar hubs operated by the Landline Company in Philadelphia and Chicago. Officials say the off-site facility aims to reduce congestion at Logan amid rising air travel demand. Passengers can reserve shuttle passes up to 90 days in advance. Massachusetts transit officials plan to evaluate the trial before considering expansion.
