He threw a one-hit shutout against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 12, striking out 15 batters on 95 pitches. Atlanta will counter with Martin Perez, who is 5-3 with a 2.90 ERA. Perez has won his last three starts, including a 3-1 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday.
Team injuries and roster notes The Braves placed pitcher Spencer Strider on the 60-day injured list this week with right elbow inflammation. Perez was signed earlier this year and has filled a key role in the rotation. Milwaukee announced that pitcher Quinn Priester will miss the remainder of the season and will undergo thoracic outlet decompression surgery.
