Jacob Misiorowski pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight, as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros on June 1, 2026. The right-hander threw a 101 mph fastball past Yordan Alvarez on a 3-2 count in the sixth inning. Brewers color analyst Tim Dillard said, "This is painted 101 at the top of the zone.

Again, this is a fastball that when hitters are seeing it, it just never comes down. 23 ERA. He allowed one run in 38 1/3 innings and recorded 57 strikeouts.

He threw 241 fastballs at 100 mph or faster during the month. Batters swung at 125 of those pitches, fouled off 48, and put 20 in play. Five of the 20 balls in play were hits, all singles. Misiorowski also threw 71 pitches at 102 mph or faster in May.

He had starts with 22 such pitches each against the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals. Teammate Jake Bauers said, "It's extremely impressive stuff, if not the best in the league. When he's pounding the zone, it's tough to beat him.

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez also had a strong May. He made five starts, pitched 39 innings, and did not allow a run. Sanchez became the first pitcher since Orel Hershiser in 1988 to make at least five starts in a calendar month without allowing a run.

Sanchez entered June 2026 with a streak of 44 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, the seventh-longest of all time. Orel Hershiser holds the record of 59 consecutive scoreless innings. 97 ERA, three complete games, and 43 strikeouts in six starts.
