The Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent right-hander Bryse Wilson on Friday to address injuries among the team's pitchers. Wilson, 28, had pitched once for Philadelphia and twice for the Chicago Cubs this season, allowing seven runs over 9 1/3 innings.
He was released by the Cubs on Tuesday. Wilson previously spent two seasons with the Brewers from 2023-24 and has appeared for six teams across nine years in the major leagues.
Roster moves The Brewers optioned right-hander Drew Rom to Triple-A Nashville and designated right-hander Easton McGee for assignment. Left-handed reliever Rob Zastryzny was sent to Nashville to begin a rehab assignment after missing time since May 31 with a left upper lat strain. Wilson said he signed quickly after receiving the offer and did not speak with other teams.
