Brian Williams will host a weekly interview podcast series called 'We’re Back! With Brian Williams' for Netflix, set to debut later in 2026. The show will feature interviews with celebrity figures and other newsmakers, according to Netflix.

Jonathan Wald, a veteran TV news executive who worked with Williams at NBC News and MSNBC, will serve as executive producer. Wald also oversaw Amazon Prime Video's 2024 election night special, which Williams anchored. U.S.

presidential election night coverage for Amazon Prime Video, earning an Emmy for the special. He left MSNBC at the end of 2021 after nearly 30 years at NBC News, where he was anchor and managing editor of 'NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams' for a decade. Williams created and led 'The 11th Hour' on MSNBC after departing 'NBC Nightly News' in 2015.

He anchored 'The 11th Hour' until it ended in December 2021. Since then, Williams has been absent from television airwaves for five years as of 2026. In a statement, Williams said, "With scientists predicting that every American will have a podcast by 2030, I thought it was time to get in the game.

After 40 years in the news business, where an in-depth interview gets 4 minutes of airtime at best, I just want to have interesting conversations with creative, funny, smart, talented, and consequential people — like the shows we all grew up watching and listening to.

" Netflix currently carries 51 video podcasts as of 2026. The Los Angeles Times was the first to report on Williams’ Netflix podcast venture.

Williams’ career includes 12 years in local news before joining NBC News in 1993. He served as chief White House correspondent and spent 10 years as anchor of 'NBC Nightly News' before moving to MSNBC in 2015. His tenure at NBC ended following a six-month suspension in 2015 after he repeated a false claim about being in a helicopter hit by enemy fire during a reporting trip to Iraq.

' MSNBC has since rebranded 'The 11th Hour' as MS NOW, now hosted by Ali Velshi.
