British boxer to face American in light-middleweight title unification bout
Chantelle Cameron will defend her WBO light-middleweight title against Mikaela Mayer on 29 August in Birmingham. The card also features Caroline Dubois defending her lightweight belts.
The BbcBritish boxer Chantelle Cameron will fight American Mikaela Mayer in a light-middleweight world title unification bout in Birmingham on 29 August. Cameron, 35, won the vacant WBO title in April and holds a professional record of 22 wins in 23 fights. She previously defeated Ireland's Katie Taylor in 2023.
Card details Fellow British boxer Caroline Dubois, 25, will defend her WBC and WBO lightweight titles against American Amelia Moore on the same card at BP Pulse arena. Dubois remains unbeaten after 14 professional bouts. Mayer, 35, enters with a record of 22 wins in 24 fights after her most recent bout in October.
Moore, 36, will compete in her fifth professional fight. Cameron said the matchup represents the biggest fight currently available in women's boxing. Dubois said she aims to secure additional titles later in the year after defending her belts in Birmingham.
