Background on the Shooting On February 10, the 18-year-old shooter killed his mother and half-brother at home before entering a local secondary school and killing five children aged 12 and 13 along with an educator. April, families of the victims announced they were taking OpenAI and its co-founder to court in California to pursue damage awards. The attorney general said the province owes it to the community to prevent similar incidents. "The province is preparing legal action to hold artificial intelligence company OpenAI and its decision makers accountable for their failure to notify law enforcement of the violent prompts made on its ChatGPT platform by the perpetrator prior to the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge," the attorney general said.
