Buckingham Palace Withdraws Accommodation Offer After Prince Harry Accepts It

Buckingham Palace withdrew its offer of accommodation for Prince Harry after he did not formally respond by the end of last week. Royal sources informed him over the weekend that he could no longer stay at the palace, citing the need for a minimum notice period to arrange staff.

Prince Harry arrives in London on Monday for a five-day visit centered on events marking one year until the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July 2027.

He will visit Birmingham's children's hospital and the National Exhibition Centre. Meghan Markle and their children will not accompany him during the London portion of the trip. Prince Harry accepted the offer in writing on Saturday morning, according to Newsweek.

His spokesperson stated that the withdrawal was disappointing and cited Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers case as the reason given by the palace. The spokesperson noted that Buckingham Palace had been aware of the judgment since last Thursday. The visit marks the first time Prince Harry has seen King Charles III since September 2025.

He has not seen his father's grandchildren in person for four years. Prince Harry stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020, after which his UK security protection was downgraded, and he remains in an ongoing legal dispute with the UK Home Office over his security arrangements.
